Valencia CF winger Luis Rioja talked after the 3-0 win over CD Eldense in the team's preseason friendly.

“It is something we all want. The club, the players, and the fans are all keen for Europe, and we will always strive to give our best for the supporters and to this club, given its immense stature. We aim to improve upon last season’s performance; if we do that, everyone knows what the team are capable of aspiring to do.”

Preseason games

“Matches like this serve a number of purposes. Ultimately, we tend to focus on the result, but beyond that, we veteran players try to integrate the new arrivals, and we’ve seen Sato, De Haas, and Dieng in action. We want them to gradually start to feel like part of this family, and we also want to take the positives from the game. The team played very well. We’re on the right track physically, and we’re going to use these games to ensure we’re playing at a high competitive tempo by the time the season opener comes around.”
